A 111 YEAR OLD DEHYDRATED SOURDOUGH STARTER FROM LOSTINE OREGON. 

THIS STARTER WAS GIVEN TO A FRIEND IN 1979 FROM A FELLOW WALLOWA COUNTY RESIDENT. IT CAN BE STORED IN THE REFRIGERATOR INDEFINITELY.

REACTIVATING YOUR STARTER: 

TAKE A TABLESPOON OF WARM WATER (70 DEGREES) IN A GLASS JAR AND CRUSH ABOUT 1/2 A TEASPOON OF STARTER INTO IT. LET SIT FOR 5 MINS. THEN ADD A TABLESPOON OF WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR AND STIR. IT SHOULD BE THE CONSISTENCY OF PANCAKE BATTER. IF TOO SOUPY ADD MORE FLOUR. COVER YOUR CONTAINER WITH ANYTHING BREATHABLE, PAPER TOWEL OR A LOOSE LID WILL WORK. KEEP IT OUT OF DIRECT SUNLIGHT AND BETWEEN 70 AND 85 DEGREES. IT SHOULD START TO BUBBLE WITHIN 24 HOURS. ONCE ACTIVATED YOU MUST FEED IT DAILY OR STORE IN THE FRIDGE.
